What Freud Can Teach Us About shoofly cake
I know this may sound like a cliché, but I’m pretty sure that in the ‘90s, the people in charge of putting together the latest and greatest in tech had no idea what shoofly was.
It’s a little bit of a long story, but the basic idea is that shoofly cake was a really popular dessert in the 90s that was made from flour mixed with a chemical that made the flour swell up like a balloon. It looked like a doughnut, had no crust, and was completely filled with a filling that was a combination of sugar, eggs, and fruit.
In the end, the dough would deflate, and the filling would be poured out. As a result, the doughnut was basically just dried out dough. It just looks like a doughnut, without any flavor. But if you put it in a pan with a few drops of lemon juice on top, it has a slightly different flavor. So shoofly cake was a huge hit, but I’m glad that we now have something like it in America.
