I just had to share this with you, as I recently attended a reading with her that I was highly impressed by. She really has a way of making you feel as if you were there with her.
Bun ga nuong. It’s a play on the Vietnamese word for “bun.” She uses it with a very specific meaning, which is “to hold onto, or cling to.” It’s a very strong phrase, and it’s important to be conscious of its meaning.
What really makes Bun ga nuong stand out is the way she uses the word “bun” as a verb. I have a tendency to use this word all the time, but rarely do I use it in a very literal sense. This is very different, and really makes bun ga nuong unique.
By using the verb bun ga nuong as a verb, you are actually creating a verb of action, not describing a real-life situation like “she holds onto a door” or “she clings to the wall.” Bun ga nuong is not a verb that means “she is holding onto something.” Instead, it means, “she is holding onto the verb that is making her perform an action.” So, Bun ga nuong is an action verb, and not a noun.
